Hayley Wickenhiser

Hi I am here to talk to you about a hockey player. Not Sidney Crosby Not Dany Heatly and Not Drew Dougthy I am here to talk to you about Hayley Wickenhiser. Hayley has been playing on Canada's women hockey team for a few years now. One thing that Crosby and Hayley both have in common is that their in my opinion the best on both their Canadian hockey Olympic teams.

At age 15 in when Hayley was chosen for the Canadian Women's National Team. She has since led the squad to six gold and one silver medal at the Women's World Hockey Championships. As an Olympian, she earned a silver medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics and three Olympic gold medals in 2002, 2006 and most recently at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.

Hayley Wickenheiser has proven to be an elite athlete time and time again. Sports Illustrated recently named her number 20 of the Top 25 Toughest Athletes in the World. She is also a two-time finalist for the Women's Sports Foundation Team Athlete of The Year and was recently named among the Globe and Mail's ?Power 50? influencers in sport. In January 2003, Hayley made hockey history when she became the first female hockey player to notch a point in a men's professional game with the Kirkkonummen Salamat of the Finnish second division. Wickenheiser also played in Eskilstuna, Sweden with a men's professional division-one hockey team for the 08-09 season. Along with hockey, Wickenheiser has mastered a number of sports. An elite softball player, she participated in the 2000 Summer Olympics as a member of Team Canada and worked as a Softball Analyst with CBC's coverage of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.

Putting her pursuit of a BSc at the University of Calgary to good use, Wickenheiser has led numerous projects with the goal of raising the profile of women's hockey around the world. Hayley is constantly working to provide mentoring opportunities for young athletes and is currently planning an international women's hockey festival in Burnaby, BC in late 2010. Hayley Wickenheiser lives in Calgary, Alberta and is a very proud mom to 10-year old son, Noah.

This is why I think Hayley Wickenheiser is the best all round hockey player and all round person out of all the woman hockey players in the world

My class this year

This year has been a great school year I have made new friends and become better friends with old friends. In these 3 paragraphs I am going to tell you why this school year has been so great.

Well first of I have made a lot new friends this year the most recent being Fabian who came from Germany at the beginning of term 3 another few friends I have made this year are Emily M, Emily V, and I think I have even become better friends with Cassie which is pretty amazing considering the fact that at the beginning of the year we hated each other.

Another thing has been getting to hang out with all my friends like Keegan, Wyatt, Andrew, Gabi and Fabe and all the trips that we have gone on this year and the amount of fun time jokes and laughs we have had this year

As we close up the year heading into grad and on our way heading on to Quebec and graduation. After this we will also have to say good bye to classmates like Andie and Wyatt.

No matter what I cant wait for next year but I don't want this year to end but

whether we part ways or not we will always have the memories that keep us together

Uniform

My Blog this week is going to be on uniforms in my opinion they're just a waste of time. Like I have to wake up a 6 in the morning and the worst part is always having to put on the same clothing everyday. Another annoying thing is that they're so heavy and when it is humid out.

I think the reason that the school wants us to wear uniforms is because well we look presentable another reason is because we all look the same and people can't judge us on our clothing attire.

I think that we should be able to wear what ever we want when ever we want.

This is my opinion on uniforms.

My Bucket List

1. The first thing on my bucket list I would like to do is see a game in ever NHL teams arena. The reason this is number one is that the NHL is my favorite professional sports league and I already have been in a few NHL arenas the ACC, Scotia Bank Place and the Melon Arena.

2. The second thing on my bucket list would to go to every amusement park in the world because I love the rush of being on roller coasters and I think it would be cool to see all the amusement parks in the world.

3. Another cool thing to do would to go sky diving because I think it would be cool to jump out of an airplane and I think it would be an exhilarating rush

4. I would like to do a lap on every single dirt bike track in the world because I love dirt bikes I started dirt biking at the age of 5

5. The final thing on my bucket list that I would like to do ids go to see every Nascar Track in the USA

My trip to Florida

This week for my blog I'm going to talk about my trip to Florida. On the first day we left the house at noon hour because our family drives to Florida so we stoped for gas stops and lunch and dinner. On the first night we went to stop at 10 o'clock at night. But because the Nascar race was in the next town, so all the hotels were full so we had to drive another 4 hours and into another state just to find a hotel so we were in Vrginia and we didnt get a hotel till North Carolina. Two days later we finally got on the cruise ship and I need to tell you it was a ton of fun we left Port Canavrial at 4 o'clock on the Monday of the 22nd of March it was really cool seeing the ship leave the port. The next day we stoped on the ship companies private island in the Bahmas called Coco Kay we swam in the ocean and sat by the ocean for a few hours the next day we docked in Nassau we did a little shoping and walking around the island and did some sight seeing. The next day we were just on the ocean the whole day so there wasn't much to do. The final day on the ship we had to wake up 6 am becasuse we had to be off the ship at 10 o'clock so once we got off the ship we went to the mall and to the house that we stayed at.

Most of the time at the house we were swiming, playing pool or watching movies. We went to Universal Studios 4 days. My favorite ride was Duling Dragons. Duling Dragons has to costers that pass each other the whole ride it has two costers fire coaster and ice coaster. My favorite coaster was the ice coaster. Another good coster at Universal was the Rip Ride Rocket this ride was cool because while you could listen to music while you were on the coster but you couldn't hear the persons music beside you. But all the people that know me it's no surprise that I picked country music because I picked the song living fast-forward. Universal Studios was really fun and one of the best parts of the trip.

So overall my trip to Florida this year was really fun the best part of was defenitly the fact that I got to go on my first cruise which was incredably fun and I got too go Universal Studois again. I can't wait for next year to go on a cruise again.

The hockey mens olympics

I decided to do this for this week because I couldn't think of anything good for Keegan's post. So I decided to do mine on the Olympics. On the note that there are only 16 days. Till they start and I am going to tell you my predictions for the mens hockey. By the way there could be some mean content to some countries like the USA and Russia

I think at the bottom of the Olympics in 12 and 11 place are going to be Norway and Belarus because nether of them played in the 06 Olympics in Italy both these teams together have only 5 NHL players then I think in 10, 9 and 8 will be Latvia, Slovakia and USA because with their rosters I don't think they will be able to keep up with the other teams. Now in 7, 6 and 5 I think it will be Germany, Czech Republic and Switzerland because their all turning in to good teams just their not good enough yet.

Now in the semi-finals I think in the first one will be Canada vs. Russia and I think Canada will win 4-3 in overtime sending Canada to the Gold metal game and Russia to the Bronze metal game. Now in the second semi-final I think it will be Sweden vs. Finland a rematch of the last winter Olympics gold medal finals when Sweden won the gold medal. But this time I think Finland is going to win 5-2 over Sweden.

Now for the finals it is Canada vs. Finland at the end of the first period it will be 2-0 Canada at the end of the second period it will be 4-1 Canada but in the final period a incredibly Finland will score 4 goals and when them their first ever mens Olympic gold medal so the medals will go to Russia bronze, Canada silver and Finland gold and these are my Mens Olympic predictions

Speedy Ostrich

Like all good super hero stories the speedy ostrich was just a 16 year old boy who was incredible nerdy. He went to the zoo on his class trip. But when feeding the ostrich it happened the ostrich bit him. When coming home the speedy ostrich ( by the way his name is Eugine ) was incredible sick and when he woke up the next day he was the speedy ostrich!

The speedy ostrich's super powers are supper speed, he can bite people with is super long stretchy neck, He has a super hard kick one kick to the face of an enemy could be fatal, Speedy ostrich's nemesis the pouncing lion has super speed as well as they zoom around Toronto.

I think it would be cool to be speedy ostrich because of all of his powers and getting to run around Toronto and being able to hurt pouncing lion with the ostrich kick.

Who would I be for a day blog?

There are a lot of cool people that you could be for a day. But if I were to pick one it wouldn’t be Sydney Crosby or Shea Labouf or Ben Roethlisberger or even Justin Bieber’s best friend for a day. ( Ya Cassie I am talking about you ) I would like to be my true hero for A day. My dad he is a firefighter in Guelph he has been a firefighter for 11 years now and I think it would really be cool to be a firefighter. All the action and getting to save people’s lives.

I think firefighters don’t get the attention they deserve though. Like how many people has Tony Hawk saved? Has Justin Bieber ever given birth to a child? Has Souja Boy ever jumped into a fire to save a 7 year old? When Zack Efron goes to the acting studio does he think that I could die today and never see my family again? I think you get the picture. They deserve a lot more attention than they get and these movie stars and singers they say or sing some lines with emotion and then to cool stunts. Firefighters jump into fires put their lives on the line and save other people from burning buildings.

So I think that it would be cool though getting to save people’s lives and it would be a lot more fun than singing a platinum record, or getting a NHL hat trick, or winning the super bowl. So in other words I think it would be really cool to be a firefighter than any other job or thing and the hole entire world and dad you are my hero don’t forget that

P.S. It would be really cool to win the Super Bowl though
